It's not the opinion that's wrong -- it's the statement. That's what bugs me.
I never said yalls was wrong. I even said you were right cause its your opinion.
It's the statement that is incorrect -- it's not an opinion based argument. One can easily find as many songs not
written by the performer that are emotional as there are unemotional trite garbage written
by the performer. This correlation of real/fake is a non-starter.
It's a crutch, and critically lazy, to sit back and say "blah, band X didn't write this song therefore
it's fake and not good." Especially
given the history of Rock and Roll and songwriting.
I listen to music I like in all sorts of genres as it comes to me. I am allowed to have personal taste though. If you wanna argue about it then I mean you can send me things in my inbox but I don't really care if you think you proved my opinion false. Its preposterous the very idea. Not everyone has the same taste in music or general overview opinions as you. That should not really be a issue.
I'd be willing to bet there were more people involved in the song-writing process then you're giving credit for for things you already
I am willing to continue discussing it but no need to do it here.
Feel free to start a thread discussing music written by the performer or not ... I'll discuss it anywhere, it doesn't matter where.
I was only talking about music I enjoy.
And I think it's very odd (and I'd wager not true) that you enjoy music written only by the performer. I mean, that takes out some of the greatest music ever recorded and countless genres that don't fit into this bubble.
