*Kamtin - Aloha! This is Kamtin Mohager from AbsolutePunk.net, enjoying a
very sunny day here in Colorado. Though I'd much rather be in the beautiful
California with you guys, unfortunately I can't. Can you please let us know
who you guys are and what role you play in running the amazing Macbeth Shoe
company?

Macbeth Shoes - At this point macbeth is still a pretty small company there are about
just a few of us here Alex Almedia is in charge he's the management, he
takes care of the numbers and the business and supercharged list maker. Lisa
Clifford the office manager and negotiator. George Hammel internet guru,
download master. Mike Scalia sales manager ultra ripper. Greg "Sancho"
Ramirez he's the road dog he's always on the road with different bands, greg
is the liaison and takes care of the bands everybody is down with "Sancho".
Mark Hoppus, and Tom Delonge are the owners and they play a major role in
the look and feel of the company. Mark and Tom are very hands on with the
shoes they come in and approve stuff or we work together through e-mail
either way we try to keep them very up to the minute on whats going on and
what will look like what. I am the art director so It's my job to take care
of all the print art, design shoes & clothes or if someone like Tom has
something they want to see or they sketched it out, I'll put it in the
computer and get it sampled.

*Kamtin - I've already had the privilege in interviewing Ben from Atticus Clothing, so I have somewhat of an idea of how things may work with Macbeth.
But, how did it all get started? What were the main goals the company
wanted to achieve when creating such a company?

Macbeth Shoes - It all got started, thatıs for sure as to how that's kind of blurry. It's
like I was born but I donıt know which position it was my parents made me
in. Our main goals are pretty simple make shoes that we are going to love,
my main goal is to design shoes that will be classics shoes that stand the
test of time.

*Kamtin - It seems like music is the main reason why this company is around.
Majority of the products manufactured through Macbeth revolve around music
and the bands you guys choose to support. And that may be the reason why
the clothes you guys produce, is in a way, very laid-back and relaxed. But,
word on the street has it that the company will grow, and in a way, mature
from what it already is now. I've heard that a more "stylish" look will be
entering the line-up this coming year. Is any of that true?

Macbeth Shoes - Its all true, we are defiantly going to be making some fine ass track
jackets and a lot of really artsy tee shirts that are soft as shit, as well
as the shoes of course they will just keep getting better.

*Kamtin - Since the growth of companies like Macbeth and Atticus, being
business' that have themselves very in tune with the music scene, we have
experienced many people, fairly young people at that, starting their own
clothing lines based around musicians. They have chose to sponsor bands and
add them to their "roster". Do you guys feel that you have created somewhat
of a trend?

Macbeth Shoes - We like music , I like gregs answer.

*Kamtin - With the shoes you guys create, musicians input is very, very
beneficial. Why was it so important to create products mainly influenced by
musicians and their comfort levels (if you can call it that)?

Macbeth Shoes - Musicians know what they want and tend to be trend setters instead of followers, they have some really wacky ideas sometimes and I like that..

*Kamtin - We all know the bands on your roster are favorites of yours, but
with them aside, what other bands or musicians are you guys really into?

Macbeth Shoes - I'm listening to the faint Danse Macabre Remixes right know, I'm liking the pixies, guns and roses, david bowie, tom petty, slayer god hates us all (awesome).

*Kamtin - Also, besides the groups already working with the company, are
there any other artists you would love to see working with Macbeth?

Macbeth Shoes - Im trying to get jimi hendrix to do a signature shoe but he's not taking my
calls..

*Kamtin - For each one of you, how has working for this company changed your lives? I know it may be a pretty deep question, but it seems like Macbeth
is more like a family than a business. The relationships between the
company and the bands seem almost overwhelming with love, and I'm sure the
same goes towards each and every one of you.

Macbeth Shoes - Yah we all love each other, like I love macbeth but its not my girlfriend,
macbeth never gets naked for me.

*Kamtin - 2003 is over. 2004 is here. And that means a great selection of
new records to be released this year. What were some of the best records in
your opinion this past year, and, what are you guys (and girl...I didn't
forget you!) looking forward to in 2004?

Macbeth Shoes - The new blink record very good, the johnny cash album or was that 2002, dane cook's comedy cd, the darkness, spiritualized amazing grace, afi, radiohead.

*Kamtin - I'm interested to ask this because I would really love to find out
how the downloader feels, instead of always asking the musicians how they
feel about music piracy. Some artists are for it, and some obviously aren't.
How do you guys feel about this whole situation of people getting sued
over downloading, and what toll it has taken on many peoples lives. Since
you guys have very strong relationships with musicians everywhere, does that
chance your thoughts towards the whole issue, or are you for downloading?

Macbeth Shoes - I try I can never get what I want its always listed wrong.

*Kamtin - In a nutshell, what can we see in 2004 from Macbeth?

Macbeth Shoes - Clear shoes that float I donıt know how I did it but I did and thatıs that you can real fly in them, and also shoe with turn signals if you don't know
where you are going you just look at your turn signals and they will let you
know, and of course shoes with robots in them so you donıt have to go to
work just your shoes and robot go.

*Kamtin - That will have to do for today. I expect a big package at my door
in the next few weeks with free stuff because of this interview! (Haha) I'm
totally just kidding! Seriously, thank you all so very much. I know how
busy you all may be and it means the world for you all to take some time to
answer these questions. All of us here at AbsolutePunk.net have much
respect for the company, and appreciate everything. Any last words?

Macbeth Shoes - I want a pet dinosaur, is that so much to ask..

Kamtin,
Once again you get a really cool interview, but screw it up by asking the dumbest questions in the world...No one wants to know what records the people at macbeth are listening to. They want to know stuff about the company and the new line of clothes. Why hasn't Jason spoken to you about this or fired you. STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS. Next time you do an interview, it better be good or I am going to be very pissed off. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
BROOKS FIRESTONE
