Same.

This somehow topped O'brother for me. Not by a lot, but it just surprised me more than Disillusion.

I haven't heard this album yet but I have heard their past releases and I don't get them at all. Seriously nothing interesting whatsoever in their music for me.
i felt the same. give the album a shot.

Fantastic review, Drew. I'm sure will be seeing this on plenty of Top 10 lists (including mine).

I think the album is really good. The first third of the album is a bit all over the place for me, but the last third really brings it home. I don't know if I would call ita great album just yet, but it's definitely the band's best release to date.

Standouts: Just Exist, Non Fiction, Is Survived By
What about the middle third?

What about the middle third?
I'd say it's a happy medium between both ends. The album progressively gets better.

This is the type of music that is rewarding for giving it a chance. It may take 1, 2 , or maybe even 10 listens, but when it clicks it is worth it.

Don't worry, I don't get it either
don't get me wrong I love hardcore and I "get" what the scene Touche Amore and La Dispute are in but its hard for me to get into their "brand" of music. I love all those elements and styles of music but its hard for me to "get" those bands.

I guess I have to be in a very particular sort of mood. Last time I listened to touche amore I was drunk and in a dark state of mind and it felt right. I am drinking fireball tonight so maybe I'll give this album a go and see how it impacts me.
