Glad people aren't just handing out great reviews for everything this guy puts out. Vast majority of the album just meanders around with no will pay off and nothing to hold on to after you've finished listening. The couple songs that are more structured really work - there's just not enough of them.
Yeah, this is essentially what it comes down to. It feels like he maybe wanted to make some kind of experimental-ish record where he dispensed with pop structures but then realized he was bad at it and added a few that were decent. It makes the album feel disjointed and, like you said, meandering without a purpose.
