95, really? I mean I love Will to death and I enjoy this album, but whew.
I like it as much as my fifth favorite record of the 2000s, if not more. So yes, really.

But as I and many other writers for this site have said over the years, the number is arbitrary at best. Surprised that you of all people would bring it up as a sticking point.

LOL. I think Hoge is fantastic. I truly do. I'm a huge Hoge devotee and very rarely say negative things about him. I'm just trying to stack this up against the other albums you've given lofty praise to so far this year (Butch Walker, Jimmy Eat World, Dawes, The Civil Wars). I guess that's where I'm coming from. Does that make sense?

Still a bit confused, honestly. I very consciously gave it a rating along the same lines as JEW and The Civil Wars, because those will be my top three albums on my EOTY list. Not sure which I'll put at number 1. Butch would have been a contender, but lands on the EP list because it's only five songs, and Dawes will almost certainly come in at number 4.

Love me some Will Hoge, looking forward to checking this out. Nice review

Let me know what you think!
