This album is incredible. The title track "Adultery" tickles your curiosity through a mix of quirky lyrics ("I drink more milk than she does") and a hard hitting pop-punk chorus. Once fully through the album you're left wanting more after the final track reprises a line from an early track favorite, "Brother". I'm not sure what to compare this to exactly. There's elements of punk, pop-punk, emo, and possibly even grunge at times. It's filled with depressing themes and emotion yet I found it to be strangely energizing.
A late comer to my album of the year list, I'd put this right at the top without question. Wish I would have gotten around to listening to this album earlier in the year. Here's to hoping the praise from many end of the year lists spurs a fan base boom and a tour in early 2014.
