The church-turned-nightclub is being purchased by Grace Centers of Hope, with plans to hold the first service at the Gothic church on Easter Sunday. "Clutch Cargo’s is no longer a nightclub," Pastor Kent Clark, CEO of Grace Centers of Hope, said to applause from more than a hundred people gathered for the announcement.
Never really liked this venue. It was basically a church with a tacky sign outside of it. Not surprised it is shutting down. Every show that comes through Pontiac seems to be at the Crofoot now anyways. They did host one of my favorite shows of all time in 2007 though (Chiodos, Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, and The Devil Wears Prada).
That's crazy. When I saw the tour dates for that tour yesterday I thought to myself, man there's not too many shows at Clutch anymore. Makes sense now. Have a lot of good memories there blinks $2 dolla tour, Drive Thru invasion, FOB.....sad to see it go.
There haven't been shows there for a long time and then a Zeds Dead show popped up out of nowhere. I thought it was closed years ago. Only show I went to there was Head Automatica with Men Women and Children.
