the point is to record and write music that you yourself would be stoked about hearing, even if you hadnt created it. if he enjoys his music, then thats all that should matter man. i do the same thing whenever something new has just been completed
great interview. I knew Shaant and Fred weren't the best of friends but I didn't know they hated each other... that sucks. Didn't love how he basically put down SOBR though - I still love that album (even if I'm the only one!)
you're not the only one.
i really like that album too.
lyrical lies & teasing to please are just soo great.
i liked the interview alot, but the only thing i didn't quite like/understand was when he said "It is just one hell of a time. A lot drinking."
but in the song Newport Living, one of the lyrics is "But liquor doesn't exist in my world".
and the song The Fourth Drink Instinct also was against drinking.
so does anyone know if he just gave in, or was he joking, or sumthin?
For some reason, I find the idea of saying that your band's old shit was terrible but now it somehow kicks ass troubling. I liked the first record for what it was, and I imagine I'll like this one once I get my hands on it, but I guess I would've preferred to see him stick up for his own music, not distance himself from it just because there are about a jillion haters.

yeah. some of those sentences... took me awhile to understand. the grammar is a little bizarre on some of his responses.
