What's your guys' go to tech news site?

I used to use Mashable ton but that dropped off considerably with the site redesign a while back. Honestly I think my favorite source right now is just using the Tech section on the Facebook Pages app.

Hackers Lurking in Vents and Soda Machines
They came in through the Chinese takeout menu.

Unable to breach the computer network at a big oil company, hackers infected with malware the online menu of a Chinese restaurant that was popular with employees. When the workers browsed the menu, they inadvertently downloaded code that gave the attackers a foothold in the business’s vast computer network.

This story is crazy.

Heartbleed is a catastrophic bug in OpenSSL, on a scale of 1 to 10, it is an 11
Heartbleed is a catastrophic bug in OpenSSL: … Basically, an attacker can grab 64K of memory from a server. The attack leaves no trace, and can be done multiple times to grab a different random 64K of memory.

The Feds Cut a Deal With In-Flight Wi-Fi Providers, and Privacy Groups Are Worried

Gogo and others that provide Wi-Fi aboard aircraft must follow the same wiretap provisions that require telecoms and terrestrial ISPs to assist U.S. law enforcement and the NSA in tracking users when so ordered. But they may be doing more than the law requires.

This has been keeping us extremely busy at my work. We have been actively running a few different scripts scanning our customer's dedicated servers and VPSs. Not only that but we are having to reissue SSL certificates for all the customers requesting it, which has just been a nightmare.

Site to test URL's to check if they're patched or not for the Heartbleed bug.

Before changing passwords on sites -- worth checking first.

according to that link, every website i submitted appeared to be clean or fixed. only issue is, it doesn't specify if was vulnerable before it was fixed. looks like i'm gonna change alot of my passwords, especially on sites i used credit card transactions

Might have to tell my family about this. We go over our data every single month and the overage charges are just absurd, and they only give one fucking gig extra

Have you heard about Ting Wireless? They run off the Sprint backbone and you pay for what you use. No contracts.
