When I'm inside my own head whilst travelling around on various modes of transport and generally going about my business, I often think of songs that would either soundtrack that moment in a movie or, on the other side of things, I hear a song and think about what kind of scene that could accompany in a movie. It's just something that happens in an instant without much detailed thought given to it, but I realised I did it frequently when my cousin mentioned doing exactly the same thing.

These songs aren't meant to speak directly to the "moments" in the idea of a day I had in my head, not all are lyrically connected - some are. The majority are, however, connected in terms of how they sound and how that fits a certain moment of the "day" (some aren't). Nevertheless, I constructed a playlist (despite looking long, it's under an hour) which could serve as the soundtrack for a day in the life of somebody who has almost every stereotypically semi-mundane situation happen to them. Track 1 sees the waking up to a new day followed by a series of songs adjusting to the day/having fun in the sun with friends, skating, chilling/whatever until Track 5 where a night-out of drinking, drug-taking and rowdiness with "the lads" begins, leading to a fight over the one-two hit of Tracks 9 and 10. Morale is low on the night out after this, but is swiftly picked up and shaken off and by Tracks 12-14 the "character" has found himself in a very different mood, swaying his debauchery into lust (and what seems like love in the intoxicated state) before wanting to hit the comedown all by themselves. The last couple of tracks being melancholic in their reflection before passing out.

Quite frankly, it's a pretty loose as hell theme and probably only makes sense in my head. So if nothing else, it's there to serve the purpose of getting inside my brain a little.

I'm melting.

Can't wait to listen to this tonight!
<3

Original had Places To Hide in there as well but they weren't on either streaming services and had The Maccabees - "Bag of Bones" at the end.

Would've loved that!! Which PtH song?
"Self Preservation" or "Getting Worse (I Hate Me)".

Oh wow. Totally missed that, still surprised not to see any Maccabees.
"Bag Of Bones" was supposed to be the closer but apparently Spotify and Rdio don't have it outside of UK.

Ah. Knowing that, I will add it to the end. Good choice of song.
It was supposed to be there instead of Daughter, but subbed it.

Been too long since I last heard that Jamie T song. Although I did watch the video for Sheila a few times earlier in the week after the news about Bob Hoskins.
Haha exactly the same here.
