My girlfriend and I just finished Hannibal and we have pretty much watched everything we have wanted to watch at this point.

Aside from the obvious shows (i.e. Orange is the New Black, Fargo, Breaking Bad etc...) are there any under the radar shows that are good for binge watching. We were thinking of watching The Americans, Derek, or Top of the Lake.

Any other suggestions?

Top of the Lake is good. I would recommend Rectify.

I was thinking of starting Doctor Who. When do I start though? Didn't it "reboot" in the 90s? Is that where I start?

Start with the 9th Doctor, which began airing in 2005.

I don't think my gf will be too interested in it, but she watches like 30 shows.

Never saw the show myself. That's just the extent of my knowledge of the series.

The Americans and Rectify are both great. I've only seen the first episode of Top of the Lake, but I loved it and intend on watching the season.

The Americans is coming back next year right? It wasn't canceled?

Misfits on Hulu is pretty good for binge watching since it has five seasons with 6-8 episodes each.

Correct. It was renewed. I'm only half way through season 1, but it's definitely a binge worthy show.

I'll echo Rectify. Top of the Lake is a great choice. If you haven't ever watched it, the entirety of Friday Night Lights is on Netflix.

My "big three":

Lost
Six Feet Under
Twin Peaks

If those seem too obvious, I recommend Orphan Black. It's a really well writen show and its humor reminds me a lot of Breaking Bad's. It's addictive.

Also, if you're a fan of documentaries, check out the ESPN 30 for 30 series. Even if you're a casual sports fan such as myself, the episodes are pretty engaging and create a terrific narrative for the subject matters. Most of the episodes are streaming on Netflix.
