Breaking Dawn: Fantasy. It is the fourth and final book of the Twilight Saga. I'm sure you've heard it.

These are my favorite books/series that I can think of off the top of my head.

Fiction:
World War Z
Song of Ice and Fire
Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter (for real...I was surprised by how well written and entertaining they were)
The Foundation (arguably the first sci-fi book of all time)
The Forever War
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
For Whom the Bell Tolls
All Quiet on the Western Front

Non-Fiction:
Team of Rivals (amazing book on Abraham Lincoln...basis for the movie based on him by Speilber)
I suck at Girls (hilarious book written by the guy who did "Sh*t my dad says"
Freakonomics
Scorecasting (the sports equivalent to Freakonomics)
Boomerang (Easy to read and solid book written about the global financial collapse in 08)

I am currently reading the first book in "The Dark Tower" series by Steven King. I am kind of having trouble with it. Does not seem to keep me too interested. I will probably finish this book, rent the second one from the library and if it does not get better, stop there.

^FUCK YOU.

Ahh, I need to read more. Almost every book I read becomes a favorite because books are just so good! Last books I've read are Nausea by Sarte, Creativity by Jonah Lehrer (which I particularly enjoyed) and I need to continue The Benefit and The Burden which is about tax reform in the US.

Has anybody read or heard of Towing Jehovah by James Morrow? That's one of my favorites. Here's a plot summary "Towing Jehovah (1994), in which the corpse of God (a two-mile long white male with a grey beard, as he has often been depicted) is discovered floating in the Atlantic Ocean. The captain of a supertanker is dispatched by the Vatican on a secret mission to tow the Divine Corpse to a tomb carved out of the Arctic ice. A group of atheist extremists plan on destroying the body, as although God is dead, his corpse proves that they were wrong and he existed at some point in time. An extended subplot deals with the evolution of a character's views on ethics and morality as he faces the idea of a post-theistic world."

So fantastic.

Just made an appointment today at the tattoo shop near my house to get started on my Great Gatsby sleeve. I am so excited for September 2nd. This book sparked my passion for literature, for writing, for reading, for teaching, and basically everything I want to do in my life. Considering as I start grad school to begin my teaching credential program in a few weeks, this is my reward to myself. If you couldn't tell, Gatsby is my favorite novel... but I love everything from Fitzgerald. This Side of Paradise is pretty high up there, as is Invisible Man, Nightwood, and the Harry Potter series.

Please post pictures of that when you get it done! Such a cool thing to make a sleeve out of.

Anyway. Favorite books:

House of Leaves -- Mark Z. Danielewski
The Virgin Suicides -- Jeffrey Eugenides
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake -- Aimee Bender
The End of Mr. Y -- Scarlett Thomas
The Broom of the System -- David Foster Wallace
The Time Traveler's Wife -- Audrey Niffeneger
The Eyre Affair -- Jasper Fforde
A Visit From the Goon Squad -- Jennifer Egan
After Dark -- Haruki Murakami
