Silverstein and August Burns Red have teamed up to release Four Minutes Being Cool - an Record Store Day exclusive split 7". The split will feature Silverstein covering The Get Up Kids' "Coming Clean," while August Burns Red will be covering Saves The Day' "You Vandal."

I had a dream to be a touring musician; to be an artist, get on a stage, and share my message, stories, thoughts, and emotions. That was my dream. So how did I get there?

Touring is absolutely a joy in my life; I’m blessed to be in August Burns Red. I’m blessed to tour the world, sell records, be interviewed, write the music I love to write, scream lyrics I love to scream. However, this life isn’t all it’s cut out to be.

We’re currently writing a Christmas record which we’re recording in March. That’s something we’re all very excited for. We’ve released 5 Christmas songs so far and we’re looking forward to this one. I’m not sure when the release is. I’m not even sure it will be this year. But the tentative plan is to finally get these songs down and put a bunch of eclectic metal-ish Christmas songs together on one CD. I presume covers, which we’ve already done some of and maybe some original stuff as well. But the covers are obviously the bigger hits. People know the melodies. Alot of the songs what we try to do is make the ending a positive ending, a positive ending -- a light at the end of the tunnel; so there's alot of that formula in our writing. Lyrically, I think we did a good job collaborating, and overall they're pretty solid messages.

I'll be speaking with Jake Luhrs, vocalist of August Burns Red later on today; reply with any questions you may have for the band.
