"It's not a super fast or slow record. It's very dynamic," Moreno tells Billboard.com. "Some of my favorite things about Deftones are the dynamics. Yes, we're a heavy band, but we're not just in-your-face aggro the whole time, punching you in the face. Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno and former Isis members Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide have formed a new band called Palms. Their debut album will be released later this year on Ipecac Recordings.

Deftones have entered the studio to begin work on their new album.

According to Chino Moreno (video in the replies), recording starts next week on a new Deftones album with a release date sometime late this year.
