 | | | | | | | | | | | | Squid The Whale are a talented band in their own right, but the Detroit Four have shown a knack for bringing your favorite vocalists back. Last time we premiered a Squid track, You, Me, and Everyone We Know's Ben Liebsch showed up for a verse - this time, it's Nic Newsham of Gatsby's American Dream grabbing the mic. Hit the replies to hear "How Do I Show These Cowboys I'm Alive?," the final song from Squid The Whale's new EP, Four More. | | | Jack Appleby on 01/23/13 - 01:01 AM | 78 Replies - | | | | |
 | | | | | | | | | | | | One of the bands mentioned quite a bit in our " Chinese Democracy" thread yesterday was Gatsbys American Dream. In one of those "it just works out that way" kind of moments, I was able to talk to the band today and get an update on their future plans. They have booked time in the studio, and are planning to begin tracking again very soon. There was a medical issue that popped up last year and kind of derailed everything. But, it looks like everything is back on track ... and there should be some new music coming our way this year. | | | Jason Tate on 01/06/12 - 10:56 AM | 62 Replies - | | | | |

 | | | | | | | | | | | | The kickstarter for Gatsbys American Dream only has 55 hours left. A little under $2,500 is needed to finish covering the expenses for the vinyl. To help raise money, Overdue Collection Agency are selling some of their vinyl collection on ebay. Go tell your friends and bid on some items! | | | Keagan Ilvonen on 02/16/11 - 04:07 PM | 28 Replies - | | | | |
 | | | | | | | | | | | | The $5,500 dollar goal to get Why We Fight and Ribbons and Sugar pressed on vinyl has been met in just 11 days. But, that only covers the vinyl being pressed, that doesn't include any of the other costs that go along with vinyl. Be sure to keep spreading the word and sending out the kickstarter to everyone. The more money that is raised, the more that gets donated to www.water.org. | | | Keagan Ilvonen on 01/23/11 - 07:48 PM | 23 Replies - | | | | |

One part Nic Newsham ( Gatsbys American Dream), one part Nick Vombrack ( Dr. Manhattan), the duo's debut EP, A Goldfish and his Friends, is now streaming on the band's AP.net Profile. Though there's an off-kilter aesthetic to the artwork and the instrumentation on these six tracks, you can count on Newsham's always mellifluous vocal delivery to swiftly bury these songs in your skull. | | | Garett Press on 08/23/10 - 08:48 PM | 50 Replies - | | | | |
