Joey Cape recently told Punknews.org that Lagwagon will enter the studio next spring or summer to begin recording for a late 2014 release.
Yeah, itll be late next year, probably fall, and itll be on Fat Wreck Chords, as always. Well most likely record in late spring or summer and they need a few months to do their thing. I dont like to do this because you kind of jinx yourself when you start talking about specific dates, but Im hoping for an early-fall release because its good time of year to put a record out and its been too long and I figure well go on tour forever to support it.

Joey Cape has confirmed that he has started writing new Lagwagon material.
From the InterviewWe take a long time to make records, but we have been touring this whole year to support that box set, and all the old stuff is really riffy. Honestly like doing that all year has kind of awakened something in me. Two months ago we were on tour in Europe and I woke up one day and was like I got it, I know what to do! and started writing. I have written a whole bunch of stuff, and basically were waiting to finish out this tour and then the Australia tour, and after that were gonna get in a room together. Ive already talked to the other guys in the band about what were gonna do.

You can read our massive interview with Lagwagon's Joey Cape here. We tried to get as many of your questions answered as possible.
QuoteThis is the Lagwagon year. Im going back to work for awhile, but Im always working on other stuff though. Im doing another one with Tony Sly right now, we made a split in 2004 and were making a new one now. Its fun because you get to do your own band. I do acoustic Lagwagon songs live already, so its cool to record and rethink them.

From the Interview"I have been around long enough to know it's better to be self-indulgent and not to worry about the popularity contest. It doesn't matter and if it does to you, it will affect your ability to create real art. It affects a person's ability to be real, to be themselves."
