Lagwagon have tagged a release date on their previously announced forthcoming LP Hang. It'll be out on October 28th. Hang will be Lagwagon's first new full-length album since 2005's Resolve. There is a video of the announcement, along with European tour dates, in the replies.
We're hosting the premiere of Versus the World 's music video for "We Were Alive" in the replies. The Santa Barbara punk group features Lagwagon guitarist Chris Flippin and former The Ataris bassist Mike Davenport. Their sophomore album, Drink. Sing. Live. Love., is available now on Viking Funeral Records.
Joey Cape recently told Punknews.org that Lagwagon will enter the studio next spring or summer to begin recording for a late 2014 release.
Yeah, it’ll be late next year, probably fall, and it’ll be on Fat Wreck Chords, as always. We’ll most likely record in late spring or summer and they need a few months to do their thing. I don’t like to do this because you kind of jinx yourself when you start talking about specific dates, but I’m hoping for an early-fall release because it’s good time of year to put a record out and it’s been too long – and I figure we’ll go on tour forever to support it.
We'll be interviewing Lagwagon's Joey Cape later this week so if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the replies. The band reissued their first five records back in November and they just announced a headlining tour of the US west coast.
Lagwagon are reissuing their first five releases with bonus material next week on November 22. And to celebrate, we're teaming up with Fat Wreck Chords to give away those five records and a poster signed by the band. Head here to enter.
