Lakes are working on a new full-length, which "won't be out for awhile." In the meantime, the band will release a stripped down EP including garage versions of the album's songs and a few b-sides. Watch a video with details in the replies.
American Dream Records will be releasing The Graduate's debut album, Anhedonia, on vinyl, as well as Lakes' The Agreement, and Ace Enders' upcoming new album Gold Rush. Specific dates will be announced soon. In the mean time, you can follow the label on Twitter here.
Head to the replies to watch two covers of Gasoline Heart songs, both of which are done by Lakes. The covers are entries for a contest where you can win a free Gasoline Heart T-shirt and a copy of their latest album Nostalgia Ain't What It Used To Be. Word up to all the musicians out there - this is your chance to win some free merch.
Edit: The chat is now over. I'd like to extend the biggest thanks to all of the guys for coming and chatting it up on the site with everyone. If you haven't picked up The Agreement yet, it's about time you did.
Lakes will be chatting in this thread at 9 pm EST. Be sure to swing by and tell the guys how awesome their new record is.
Today we are bringing you a complete stream of the new Lakes record, The Agreement. This album was well worth the wait and if you don't believe me, check out Thomas's review here. You can listen to it on their AP.net profile and leave your thoughts in the replies.
This has been a great year for Seth Roberts of Lakes. He released a fantastic EP, Photographs, on The Militia Group in September, and now he is a proud father. Seth and Skylana's baby girl, Arabella, was born over the weekend. Congratulations to the Roberts family!
Jagjaguwar Records who signed over the summer Montreal's The Besnard Lakes, a six-piece atmospheric band centered around husband-and-wife Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas, will be releasing their sophomore album, The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse, on February 20, 2007. It was recorded in the same studio (Lasek's) as Wolf Parade, Islands and Sunset Rubdown. The album features guest appearances by members of bands such as Stars, The Dears and Gospeed!/A Silver Mt. Zion.
Lakes, featuring Seth Roberts and Roger Camero formerly of Watashi Wa, will be releasing a full-length in 2007. They announced their EP will be released on September 5th, and they will be touring later this year.
