Metric's guitarist and co-founder Jimmy Shaw discusses the Canadian music scene, the trials of starting a record label, and Synthetica in a new interview with PureVolume, which is also streaming their excellent new album.

Apparently the Metric soundcloud album stream that we posted before was not supposed to be out there to the public yet. It seems it was set to a secret link, and someone leaked it. So, with that - we've taken the post down at the request of the band's management. Just don't Google it or anything.
Metric has confirmed that they will collaborating with composer, Howard Shore, once again to work on the score for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. Metric landed on the Billboard charts and were #1 on the Heatseekers chart before the physical release of their new record. The band sold 6,203 copies of Fantasies this past week.
Metric has announced that their album, Fantasies, will be available on iTunes tomorrow, ahead of the April 14 release date. You can also preview the album here.

Emily Haines will be playing three times on September 7th at Brooklyn’s Union Pool (484 Union Avenue). The first show at 7:30 PM will be Emily solo, the second show at 9 PM will feature accompaniment by Metric guitarist James Shaw, and the third show at 10:30 Emily will be a guest of the Tall Firs.

Metric has returned to Canada and is currently getting ready to begin recording their fourth full length album. The band will also be re-releasing their first album Grow Up and Blow Away on June 26th.
