Wintersleep is getting ready to record its third album this month with famed producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian). Once recording commences, the guys will hop on over to Scotland to mix the album in Doogan's studio. The disc is slated for release later this year.
The North American release of the new Mogwai single, Travel Is Dangerous, is an iTunes exclusive, available on June 20. The UK version will be available in physical form on June 26. Don't forget that you can watch their latest video for "Travel is Dangerous" here.
Mogwai will be scoring the soundtrack for the new movie Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, a film about the life of legendary French soccer-player Zinedine Zidane. No release date has been set yet for the movie or the soundtrack.
According to Pitchfork, Mogwai's new album will be entitled Mr. Beast and is due out March 6. They will be supporting the album on tour in the US sometime in 2006. The album is reported to be "heavier" and more "art rock."
