On May 20th, 2003 we released our very first album "When Broken Is Easily Fixed". 10 years ago we didn't know the extent that our lives would be changed through these songs and through all the experiences we've had since. We've grown so much as people, and also as musicians.
To celebrate the release and give back to our fans, we have re-recorded the lead track, the song that started it all, "Smashed In To Pieces". This is available free of charge to stream or download in multiple formats.

 | | | | | | | | | | | | Silverstein has always been one of the more underrated "post-hardcore" bands in our scene. Despite moderate success over the years and some truly fantastic albums, the Ontario quintet has never seemed to garner as much respect or appreciation as their material deserves. With the band releasing its seventh studio album This Is How The Wind Shifts tomorrow (as well as chatting with us later tonight at 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST), I wanted to show some love to the band on this week's "Countdown." The band has evolved and refined its post-hardcore sound over the course of its 13 year career - the band sounds unrecognizable on its debut When Broken Is Easily Fixed. | | | | | | | | | | | | Silverstein's second release for Hopeless Records - This Is How The Wind Shifts - is the band's finest effort to date. The record's core concept is each track has a parallel track that tells the story in a different light - what would have happened if things were different due to a single event, thus the album's title. Today we are thrilled to premiere one piece of that concept, the infectiously catchy "Massachusetts." You can stream the song at the band's profile or in the replies. If you dig what you hear, This Is How The Wind Shifts is available for pre-order here. The band's upcoming headlining tour kicks off on January 25th and you can check out the dates and pre-order your... | | | Drew Beringer on 01/14/13 - 10:57 AM | 101 Replies - | | | | |

 | | | | | | | | | | | | The February edition of Too Long; Do Read finds us catching up with Silverstein before the band's release of Short Songs on February 7th via Hopeless Records. The record contains 11 original songs and 11 covers of punk bands that influence Silverstein, with none of the tracks topping 90 seconds. Head here to read my feature on the band, titled "Keeping Punk Rock Elite: How Looking Back Is Helping Silverstein Move Forward." In the article, you can find two exclusive song streams - one of album opener "Sick As Your Secrets" and one of a cover of Gob's "236 E. Broadway." Thoughts welcome. | | | Thomas Nassiff on 01/31/12 - 06:48 AM | 59 Replies - | | | | |
