Seattle has been a mecca of creative, talented bands throughout the years, but of the early 90's post-hardcore scene, Sunny Day Real Estate brought a sound that resonates through many bands today. The band's debut album, Diary, is a staple, and is seen as one of the first true "emo" records after Rites of Springs' End on End, but around the same time as Jawbreaker's 24 Hour Revenge Therapy.
