I’d also like to say this… What I’m working on I’d classify as Americana. It’s not from New Jersey, it’s not The Gaslight Anthem, in fact, it’s not even mine, but it’s ours… I’m looking to the people who used folk and country music as a tradition and took what was past and moved forward. Wilco, Ryan Adams, Steve Earle, Guy Clark, the Highwaymen, Bob Dylan, etc… I’m not writing about straw hats and gin joints. I’m not writing about nostalgia or a time I wasn’t born it. I’m writing about the last two years of my life since we wrote handwritten. This project is going to be based on things I learned early on musically, which were my mother’s folk songs....

Chances are that most of you know about The Horrible Crowes and already own their debut album Elsie, which hit stores today, on vinyl or CD. But if you needed one extra push to make the purchase, then perhaps you can take a moment and stream the album in its entirety on their AP.net profile now. As someone that's not a fan of The Gaslight Anthem, I was pleasantly surprised with the direction that Brian Fallon took with this album -- one that turned out to be among this year's best. And now I'm secretly hoping that he will continue to make music like this because I find it to be the perfect fit for his voice. I'll end on that note before I anger Gaslight fans any further, so head over
