| | | | | | | | | | | | The Wonder Years' new album, The Greatest Generation, has debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 charts with 19,673 units moved in first-week sales. For some perspective: The first time I interviewed the band, they were excitedly reporting first-week sales of The Upsides that came in at 1,852 units. Congratulations to the band, their management and Hopeless Records! | | | Thomas Nassiff on 05/22/13 - 10:14 AM | 66 Replies - | | | | |

| | | | | | | | | | | | Stream The Wonder Years' new record The Greatest Generation in its entirety here. You can read some first impressions on the record from Jason and Drew, and Thomas' review should be live this week as well. Is this album meeting your expectations? Surpassing? Let us know in the comments. Remember, the record hits stores on May 14th and you can pre-order it via iTunes here. It's 2013 and no one that wasn't supposed to have our record got it until we mailed them out. It's shocking and really a nice feeling that a bond of mutual respect with everyone who had the press stream kept the album where it belonged.
Now, the record is streaming so you can listen guilt free. Like I said,... | | | Christian Wagner on 05/08/13 - 02:57 PM | 603 Replies -

| | | | | | | | | | | | You can read PureVolume's recent chat with The Wonder Years' frontman Dan Campbell here. These songs are small pieces of a personal puzzle that equate to a cathartic hole—and that hole I feel can be generationally applied so on that small scale it's a really personal record. Lyrically, it's about me. It's about my life, and this idea that I tend to make excuses for fear of failure. I had to make excuses about why I wasn't going to get any better, why I wouldn't do anything bigger, why I was okay with being okay. | | | Drew Beringer on 05/06/13 - 12:05 PM | 4 Replies - | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | Michael Kennedy, drummer for The Wonder Years, is doing his first-ever 5K run for charity in Montgomery County, PA. "The Exercise Doesn't Suck 5K" will take place on June 2, and participation in the event is limited to only 30 people. Send an email if you're interested in participating. Kennedy said in a detailed statement, which you can read fully in the replies, that this is a test-run for hopefully bigger charity events in the future. | | | Thomas Nassiff on 04/29/13 - 09:01 AM | 13 Replies - | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | We told you last week about The Wonder Years' pop-up shop going on in Philadelphia during the release week for The Greatest Generation, and now the band has released tickets for each night. The tickets are free - you just have to print them out and bring them with you to the event. However, they are limited, and the final night (featuring an acoustic Wonder Years performance, meet-and-greet and signings) is almost "sold out." Head to the replies to see what's going down each night. | | | Thomas Nassiff on 04/19/13 - 12:45 PM | 17 Replies - | | | | |

| | | | | | | | | | | | Among the preorder options for The Wonder Years' upcoming record, The Greatest Generation, are several packages that offer a few different 7"s. There are five different clear variants, and on the B-side of the vinyl is an emblem that represents one of the five recurring themes on the record - bombs, pill bottles, ghosts, devils and birds. One package includes all five 7"s while the other packages include a random 7" and you can see the pressing information for the different variants in the replies. | | | Thomas Nassiff on 04/01/13 - 05:44 PM | 25 Replies - | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | The pre-order bundles for The Wonder Years's upcoming album, The Greatest Generation, are live again. The initial red variant pressing of 1200 has been expanded to 3000. Also the bundles are back and have been fitted with the red variant as well, thus making the blue variant out of print. | | | Drew Beringer on 03/26/13 - 12:52 PM | 48 Replies - | | | | |

| | | | | | | | | | | | Just a friendly reminder that Monday at 3pm EST / noon PST, we will be debuting the first song from The Wonder Years' new record, The Greatest Generation. At 6pm EST / 3pm PST, the band will be in the exclusive thread to chat with fans as well. Paired with the song stream will be a lengthy interview I did with Dan Campbell, a tiny portion of which you can read below.
Up until now, I’ve spent my life content in mediocrity, afraid of failure and hiding behind things, just saying, “This is the best I can do.” I made excuses based on where I came from and the defects in my bloodstream. I was hiding behind mistakes I had made in the past. I wasn’t fighting for great, I was content in good,... | | | Thomas Nassiff on 03/23/13 - 02:52 PM | 36 Replies -
| | | | | | | | | | | | I posted up some thoughts after my first listen of The Wonder Years' new album, The Greatest Generation. Check back on Monday when we debut a song from the album and the band comes by to chat.
See, I never really felt like I got this band before. I liked a bunch of their songs. I got why kids were relating with the lyrics. I understood the passion and the excitement. But there was never an it moment that cemented for me that this was anything special. It was good, it was fun, but with all the excitement I was seeing from other fans online … I’d always go back and re-listen to the albums hoping that I was missing something. That after this listen I would fully get why everyone was so... | | | Jason Tate on 03/23/13 - 01:15 PM | 61 Replies -
| | | | | | | | | | | | The Wonder Years have released an album trailer for The Greatest Generation, which drops May 14 via Hopeless Records. In it, the band explains the meaning behind the album's title and talks a bit about the album writing and recording process. There's video of the guys in the studio and there's a new song clip in there, taken from the opening track "There, There." Check it out in the replies. Oh, and they've also updated their website.
I wanna be remembered for more than this. I think we all do. See, people say the greatest generation has come and gone, but they're wrong. They haven't seen what we're capable of. | | | Thomas Nassiff on 03/19/13 - 01:31 PM | 237 Replies -
| | | | | | | | | | | | Read my review of the Pawtucket, RI stop of The Wonder Years' current tour with Fireworks, Hostage Calm and Misser on March 9th here.
The Wonder Years put forth all of their energy at every show, but there's something special about seeing them in a small club. Both the band and the fans relished the intimate setting. Adding a strong line-up of genuine musicians - really, any band on the show could have headlined to a solid turnout - was merely the icing on the cake. Don't miss this tour if it's coming anywhere near you, because The Wonder Years probably won't be playing venues this small for a while. | | | Alex DiVincenzo on 03/15/13 - 10:21 AM | 1 Replies -
