Read my review and take a look at my photos of Yellowcard's Ocean Avenue Acoustic Tour with What's Eating Gilbert in Providence, RI on February 1.
More than a decade after singing "I've made it this far now / And I'm not burning out" in "Way Away," Key and his bandmates are standing by those words. Yellowcard has run the gamut of highs and lows since Ocean Avenue's release; to see so many people continue to care after after all this time is further proof of the band's resiliency.

Green Day's Dookie turns 20 tomorrow. Our own Thomas Nassiff puts a retrospective look on arguably the most influential pop-punk record of all time. Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard, and New Found Glory and others weighed in with their own opinions on the matter. Reflect on the album in the replies.

A new episode of Dan Campbell's Talking With Soup has been posted, and it features Yellowcard's Sean Mackin revealing details about what he did during the band's hiatus years, the perception that Yellowcard struck it rich off Ocean Avenue, and how he dealt with thyroid cancer while touring. Check it out in the replies and go Broncos.
There was a time in our career where Yellowcard was making a lot of money, but it was a very small amount of time - it was about a year and a half, maybe two years. Over 12 years that ends up averaging out. I was relatively smart with my money, I put some away ... when we took a hiatus I sold cars for three and a half years, and on average, I made more...

Kasum has done an EDM remix of Yellowcard's "Ocean Avenue."
The 2004 single was reinvented into a dubstep creation that partners soaring synths with tasteful growls that add just enough grit to the mix. Big sounds make this one favorable for a set and if you have a crowd that is the right age, then you know they will go off for something like this! Nostalgia and bass music? What a touching experience.

Ryan Key of Yellowcard wrote up a little piece about covering "Already Won" for the Tony Sly tribute album.
First of all, being asked to be a part of this amazing tribute is such an honor. Tony and No Use For a Name were huge influences on all of us as musicians and songwriters. When Fat Mike contacted me about it he said he had a song in mind that he thought was right for Yellowcard, "Already Won." Recording the song was amazing. We actually did the drums during soundcheck in Salt Lake City on our fall tour last year. Recorded them right from the stage. Then when we got in the studio to do the rest of the tracks, there was such an intense energy between us all because we wanted to do...

Yellowcard has had to cancel their show in Colorado Springs.
Hey friends. It’s with a ton of regret that we are going to have to cancel the show in Colorado Springs tomorrow night. I have been trying so hard to beat this cold I’ve got but it doesn’t want to give up. If you can make it to the Ft Collins showon Wednesday we’d still love to hang out. Again I am so sorry. Thanks for understanding. -Ryan

Ryan Key (Yellowcard) talks a little about the band's current status and what their plays are for this year in an interview with the OC Weekly.
I've written more than I usually do at this stage...everyone in the band is really spread out geographically right now. Usually, Ryan, Sean and I start writing together early on, but that's kind of hard to do this time. We've talked a lot about it though, and the general consensus is we want it to be really big sounding. We want to open it up big and wide. Songs that we reference are "Be The Young" and "Only One," so more stuff like that maybe...Also, I'm not sure where I'm going to go lyrically with it, but going through this insane personal...

Yesterday was the ten year anniversary of Yellowcard's breakthrough album, Ocean Avenue. On August 13th, the band will be releasing a special acoustic album featuring all thirteen Ocean Avenue tracks. Today, we're premiering the first video from Ocean Avenue Acoustic of the song that changed everything for the band - "Ocean Avenue."
