Is Andrew W.K. really the "worst opener imaginable" for the Black Sabbath tour? I say no way! Read my article refuting the notion.
Is Andrew W.K. the worst opener imaginable? No way! He's not even the worst opener Black Sabbath has ever had. (Let's not forget that Crazy Town shared the stage with with metal legends on Ozzfest 2001.) Although the DJ gig certainly wasn't the ideal display, and I'm sure he'd have preferred a regular performance as well, Andrew W.K. made the most of an awkward situation and, true to his form, partied hard.

Andrew W.K. will officially be opening for Black Sabbath's North American tour with a DJ set. Dates are in the replies.
Black Sabbath have personally invited Andrew W.K. to join them for their entire North American tour, asking him to kick-off every show as their exclusive opening act. Per their request, the King of Partying will perform a special DJ set every night before the definitive heavy metal band takes the stage. Andrew promises to spin a rabble-rousing selection of classic riffs, heavy jams, and crowd pleasing favorites spanning every era of hard rock and metal.

Drummer Bill Ward will officially not be participating in the Black Sabbath reunion.
Dear Sabbath Fans and Fellow MusiciansI sincerely regret to inform you that after a final effort to participate in the upcoming Sabbath shows a failure to agree has continued. At this time I have to inform you that I won’t be playing with Black Sabbath at the Birmingham gig dated May 19th, 2012, nor will I be playing at Download on June 10th, 2012. Further, I will not be playing at Lollapalooza on August 3, 2012.

It is with a very sad heart that I bring you this news. I am sincerely passionate in my desire to play with the band, and I’m very, very sorry that it’s fallen to this. This statement is even...

In light of drummer Bill Ward's recent statement, it seems that the remaining members of Black Sabbath will be moving forward with the reunion without him.
StatementWe were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans...we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!

Drummer Bill Ward may not participate in Black Sabbath's upcoming reunion tour and album, as he is unhappy with the contract.
StatementAt this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the Black Sabbath album and tour. However, I am unable to continue unless a “signable” contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band. Last year, I worked diligently in good faith with Tony, Ozzy and Geezer. And on 11/11/11, again in good faith, I participated in the L.A. press conference. Several days ago, after nearly a year of trying to negotiate, another “unsignable” contract was handed to me.

Let me say that...

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma. We wish him the best of luck in his recovery.
StatementWith the news that Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, his bandmates would like everyone to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time. Iommi is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan--the “IRON MAN” of Rock & Roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.

This comes as Black Sabbath--Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums)--are writing and recording their first album in 33 years in Los Angeles (still set...

Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) says a reunion could happen in the foreseeable future.
Quote from Terrorizer Magazine"We've had a rehearsal and played some of the old stuff and to be together again was great," says the guitarist. "We're all on good terms and we're at a stage where we can play together again. It would be good if we could and I suppose it's the closest it's been to be able to do that. It could happen!"
Dre Okorley on 10/22/11 - 11:11 AM
Contrary to rumors, the Black Sabbath reunion is not happening.
