Last week, I chatted with Dan Briggs of Between the Buried and Me about their new record The Parallax II: Future Sequence, which is available October 9th via Metal Blade. What people might consider the Between the Buried and Me sound, people might hear this record and that thought might be something completely different. I feel like “Telos” is the song that’s most like something we’ve done, but to a different degree.

Between the Buried and Me will release their new album The Parallax II: Future Sequence on October 9th of this year.

Trioscapes was originally intended as a one-off project between Between the Buried and Me bassist Dan Briggs, tenor saxophone/flutist Walter Fancourt and drummer Matt Lynch. However, the trio meshed together so well that they decided to record a full album. The result, Separate Realities, will be released on May 8th via Metal Blade Records. You can stream a 7 and a half-minute opus entitled "Wazzlejazlebof" on the band's AP.net profile. The quirky, instrumental music combines elements of progressive rock, jazz fusion and psychedelic music.

Between the Buried and Me will headline a European tour with Periphery and The Safety Fire. Dates are in the replies.

Yeah, BTBAM are schedule to come in in May. We’ve been working together so long that it’s like family getting together for a project. Just like hangin out with friends and making music as it should be. It’s always enjoyable with then as they are great people and great players. Just a little stressful for me as I don’t want to let them down and the stakes are getting higher and higher with those guys.
