I Am The Avalanche guitarist Brandon Swanson recently announced via Instagram that he is to play his final show with the band on December 26th.
Friends, this is going to be my final show with IATA. I'd love it if you could join us for for the show. I'm gonna have as much fun as possible, probably some beers and some tears. But lots of smiles and hugs as well. Hope to see you there. [...] Just to clear the air, I didn't get kicked out or anything. I feel very accomplished in the 10 years I spent recording records and touring the world with my brothers. It's just time for me to close this chapter so I can focus on other things I want to try my hand at in my life. Viva 2015! Love y'all.

I Am The Avalanche have canceled their upcoming UK/European tour.
Message from the BandUnfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, we are not going to be able to come over to the UK and Europe in two weeks as wed planned. To say that were disappointed is an understatement, since weve been stoked on playing shows with The Wonder Years and doing the Hit The Deck, Groezrock and Monsterbash fests for months now. We will, however, absolutely be back over there this summer, and cant wait to come back and play music for all of you. Our deepest apologies about the current turn of events once again, and much love to all of you over in Europe and the UK.

With all of the commotion going on around the website the past few hours, I wasn't sure I'd have time to sit down and finish writing my Wednesday Spotlight feature today. However, if there's one thing good music will do, it's focus my mind on the task at hand. Today I want to make sure everyone knows about I Am The Avalanche. They've got a brand of rock that rolls in with a chip on its shoulder. A swagger that says there's no need to hide behind studio trickery or over glossy production. I like that. It's exactly what I'm interested in at the moment.

After the split of The Movielife we saw the release of the band's self-titled album. That was in 2005. It wasn't until last year...
