During an interview with KROQ, Travis Barker talked about the new Blink-182 album, and looking at a summertime release window.
"Just having someone like Matt (Skiba) who’s in the studio everyday is great. You got to show up, that’s the first part. It’s just exciting. It’s a new chapter and we’re not striving for mediocrity, we’re looking to kill it. We’re gonna make a great album.

I think summertime [for the release]. There’s tentatively some plans to play shows during summer. Everything will come together and be revealed in due time. It’s gonna be great.”

Edit: More of the interview can be found here.

Polygraph founder Matt Daniels has looked at the data: Blink-182 and Green Day are punk.
I have a theory: in 2015, Blink-182 epitomizes punk culture, just as the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Black Flag, etc. did ten years ago. For the masses, Blink-182 isn't just pop-punk – it's real punk. More than any other genre, whether a band is “punk” is a debate in semantics, culture, and worldview. Punk has never had a clear definition. Every generation and geography attaches different meaning to the word.

Luckily, people unknowingly associate bands with genres when they create Spotify and YouTube playlists. By tallying who appears most often on playlists titled with the word “punk," we can learn...

Blink-182's Travis Barker opens up on sex, drugs, plane crashes, and Christianity with Salon. Rhythm Magazine has also named him the greatest rock drummer in the world.
Well, with Blink-182, I did sometimes feel a little out of place with the stunts and the interviews. Tom and Mark did the talking, that’s definitely true. I love that band, and I love those guys, and I love that music. We had — and have — a lot in common. But the dick jokes and stuff weren’t me.

Travis Barker spoke with Noisey:
It was strange because I was close enough to all this crazy shit, having a gun to my head while almost getting carjacked, being in a house that got shot up two days before my friend was killed. I was always close to danger. I had to really check myself, “Are you doing the right thing? What do you want to do with your life?” Walking away from a house as all my friends are outside shooting at a moving car and thinking, “Holy shit! We just got shot at and could’ve been killed!” Those things were just a confirmation that I wanted to play music and get the fuck out of there.

There’s a song called 'Punk Rock Cliché' which I love the most right now. It's about friends of ours and their relationships."

Travis Barker of Blink-182 talks with Billboard about his upcoming memoir, relationships, and the plane crash.
Back then I was living very much day-to-day. My attitude was like, "Shit, I could be dead tomorrow." I grew up losing my mom at a young age, being shot at at a young age. Doing lots of drugs. If it was my time, it was my time, but then it wasn't until when I had my kids -- everything changed. Then it was like, "Oh my gosh, what did I put in my body? What did I do that for?" I loved being a father. I want to stay home with my kids, but I'm a musician, and I have to tour. That's how I make money. It was this push and pull, and then just to medicate myself to leave. I remember I...

Blake Solomon on 10/12/15 - 07:46 AM
Tom DeLonge really didn't want to be there.
These days, besides his family, he’s responsible to his many employees, shareholders and partners. After all, when you have a $100 million budget on the line, “I’m rehearsing for our summer tour” isn’t a good excuse for missing a meeting. So, when fans ask why DeLonge bailed on the band that made him famous, he didn’t leave Blink-182 because he’s crazy, stupid or self-indulgent. He’s simply a grown up with responsibilities and ambitions that reach all the way to the stars.

Tom DeLonge continues his media tour. This time talking with NME:
I loved that band, I started that band. That's me. I named the band - that shit came from me. [Being in Blink] cannot be the only thing in my life, or can it be the absolute priority. But can it be a part of my life? Absolutely. I love that band.

Well, someone in the other thread called this one. Tom DeLonge talked with Billboard about his upcoming project, that he brought "Poet Anderson" originally to Blink-182, and more.
DeLonge explains that he actually brought the Poet Anderson concept to Hoppus and Barker. "I sat in a room and showed them animations and everything and said, 'Do you guys want to do this with me?' And there was a tiny bit of interest, a lot of awkward silence and a lot of emails that were just ignored," he says. "So I moved on and got it done. It's not like I'm doing these things and didn't ask them to go along for the ride, ever. People don't know this shit 'cause I didn't go out and talk about it."
