According to Shaant's (Cute is What We Aim For) Facebook, he is in the studio with producer Fred Cimato working on demos for a new album.

Nocturnal Me (Dave Melillo/ex-Cute Is What We Aim For) will release their upcoming EP, Two Faced, on July 19 via Apparition Records. The full press release is in the replies.

Nocturnal Me (Dave Melillo/ex-Cute Is What We Aim For) have revealed that their upcoming EP will be titled Two Faced and is set for release in mid-July. A single is due next week. In the interview, frontman Dave Melillo discusses the recording process for the EP, as well as touching upon his solo material and discussing the role of the record label. "The title of the album is "Two Faced" and it has several meanings. When it comes down to it, I've done a lot of things recently that made me question the person I was and the values I've had up until now."

From the Interview

At that point, I figured I couldn't stop. I had to keep going. Then I realized that I had some serious issues with alcohol abuse [and it took] waking up in a pool of blood one day to decide I needed rehabilitation. My world was coming down on me from the depression and alcoholism, and then my baby--my dream-- was falling away. I understood that it was all my doing through my abusive actions with substances. I went to rehab in October and joined some friends afterward to work on their project, but it kind of turned into something more.

Cute Is What We Aim For have a new website and myspace.

Cute Is What We Aim For will be going on tour in May with The Friday Night Boys, The Bigger Lights, and Down with Webster. The tour poster/dates can be seen in the replies and pre-sale tickets reportedly go on sale tomorrow.

Cute Is What We Aim For is apparently playing a show at Diesel in Pittsburgh, PA on May 13th with The Bigger Lights and The Friday Night Boys.

Jeff Czum has recounted his feelings toward the end of Cute Is What We Aim For here.

Jeff Says

It was definitely a big part of my life but it's also a part of my life I'd like to forget. When I was playing in Cute I was not happy. It wasn't who I was. I was surrounded by negative energy 24/7 and after a while it takes a toll on you physically and emotionally. I love playing music but when it turns into a corporation where corporate greed runs your life you can count me out :)

Cute Is What We Aim For will be playing a show with Forever the Sickest Kids at Six Flags Over Texas on October 4th.

Dave Melillo, Jeff Czum and Mikey Lasaponara (ex-Cute is What We Aim For) have formed a new band called Nocturnal Me. You can hear a new demo here.

At the beginning of July Mikey, Jeff, some family friends, and I sat down with Shaant. We told him the things he needed to change as far as attitude and demeanor goes. I want to make it known that I shut him out of my life after that. He needed to be on his own if he was going to do anything positive for himself. There was not a visible change in his attitude or work ethic when I got back to Buffalo, so I decided to live my own life.
