Less Than Jake have officially returned to Fat Wreck Chords and are now signed with the label. The band's new full-length record will be released sometime in the Fall. Some new US tour dates with Pentimento and Hostage Calm can also be found in the replies.
It’s not a secret that we have been not releasing any full length records, I loved the quickness of writing and recording the EP format, you can dance around [different] styles .Anyway, being able to cut songs and recording into chunks served our band well during the last few years, allowing us to equally concentrate on our anniversary and be at home with our new expanding families. Now, we have been writing new songs for a full length, a complete thought musically and lyrically.
For those of you who don't know, Less Than Jake is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary as a band. As a part of its anniversary tour, the band played back-to-back, sold-out shows in its hometown of Gainesville, Fla., which were broadcast live via Stageit.com. Less Than Jake is taking over the Rock104.com "Locals Only" radio show tonight at 11 p.m. EDT. The hour-long show will have old and new songs from the band, an interview with Chris Demakes and songs from the bands that LTJ is playing with for their back-to-back hometown shows next weekend. This year marks Less Than Jake's 20th anniversary as a band, but they still manage to surprise fans. The ska-punk heroes have released an unannounced EP today entitled Season's Greetings From Less Than Jake. It's a companion to last summer's surprise Greeting's From EP and has five new songs. Less Than Jake drummer/lyricist Vinnie Fiorello has announced a new graphic novel called "The Phone Call." Fiorello wrote the graphic novel and began tweeting the text from it today. Paper + Plastick has launched a new comic series called "Perfect Teeth." It follows the career of a vampire band and how the music industry tries to keep pace by signing other monster bands. Members of Less Than Jake and the Descendents teamed up to record a song as the vampire band, which goes by the name Perfect Teeth, and the song will be released later this month.
