Riley Breckenridge (Thrice) has posted a new track, "Black Death." Check it out in the replies.
I was presented with an opportunity to write some music for a particular beverage company that was looking for something dark, moody and timeless, yet modern (which is totally contradictory, but whatever ... 'tis the nature of the beast). So, I wrote this. It wasn't picked up, but I'm still kinda happy with it and wish you all could see what I was scoring when I wrote this. (it'd make more sense in context.) I think it's still OK as a standalone track, but out of context, I can see how it might be tough to digest. Figured I might as well share it, rather than having it rot on a hard drive...

While we posted earlier about Dustin Kensrue's AMA on Reddit, we didn't specifically call out that he mentions a good possibility of Thrice writing music together and touring again. I feel like that should be mentioned.
Tour of some kind: very very likely. Recording of some kind: I hope so and suspect yes.

Teppei Teranishi (Thrice) was recently interviewed about his leather goods brand Teranishi, but the interview also touches on some history of the band.
Yeah, it's hard. Touring is hard. That's why we stopped. Pretty much to be able to sustain yourself as a band nowadays, they only way to do it is to tour. I have three kids now. Dustin, our singer, has three kids. It's a different season of life. It was kind of time to stop doing that for a while and focus on different things. But it was hard. It's been really, really, really nice to be home. Even more than that, when I was home for more than a year writing or recording, it was always in the back of your head that you're leaving again....

Dustin Kensrue blogged about why he opted to write a worship record and how it differs from previous songwriting efforts. His new record, The Water & The Blood, is available today.
I understand that in this form, these truths might have a glare to them that could be unpleasant for some at first glance. But I would encourage anyone who has been challenged or provoked by my songs in the past to listen to the new album in light of the framework Iíve outlined above.

I will definitely do more of a follow up to Please Come Home, I've been saying it for years, but I just haven't had a fair amount of material for it, so I threw it on the back-burner. So at this point, this was more of a priority and where I'm embedded, and what I'm trying to accomplish through Mars Hill Music. I do apologize to everyone who's waiting for a follow up to that record, it's not that I don't want to do it.

Six songs, six minutes, all inspired by #66. If you haven't heard Puig Destroyer (featuring members of Thrice, Curl Up And Die, and Kowloon Walled City) yet, then today's your lucky day. We are stoked to be premiering a new song titled "Stop Fucking Bunting." It's 57 seconds of pure anti-bunting fever and it's off the band's new EP, which is available here. You can also pre-order it on 7" vinyl via The Ghost Is Clear Records here. In the meantime, brush up on Yasiel Puig and check the track out in the replies.

By intentions I mean that we wanted to push oursleves, experiment, and build songs that we though had a unique place in the world. Not everyone would agree with me on this, but I think that music like any art has itís basic likable elements, but really makes a piece of music, or art, or whatever, special is the elements of it that make it unique.

Manchester Orchestra posted up a blog about their 1/2 of the upcoming split with Thrice.
Message from AndyPEOPLE! it's andy. i wanted to take a minute and thank you for the response the last few days to the news about some "new" music. we are so stoked to get this thing officially out into the world, even if there are only a couple hundred copies available. the story behind the making of our half of this record is a pretty cool one. i thought i would share with you the history behind why we decided to record what is undeniably THE BEST 14 minute stoner-rock version of "Don't Speak" by No Doubt to ever exist.

when manchester was writing mean everything to nothing i was in the middle...
