It feels really awkward when people talk about Frogstomp and Freak Show. That's our high school band that every other band gets to avoid; it's just that our high school band sold three million copies.

Silverchair has a new web page to go along with the release of their new album, Young Modern. Also, the new single, "Straight Lines," is available to stream on the website, as well as the music video.

Aussie band Silverchair is going to be releasing their 5th studio album this year at the 2006 Homebake Festival which is held in Sydney, Australia on December 2nd, 2006. The album is yet-to-be-titled. Check out a new promo picture of the band here.

Silverchair Album Update

This was sent out as a bulletin from The Dissociatives Myspace page:
1. Nick Launay is producing the album. He previously worked with the guys on Freak Show and Neon Ballroom.
2. Paul Mac is helping out. In the compacity of mixing, writing, co-producing.
3. The guys will be back in LA to mix the songs and add some final touches to the album in the next week or so.
4. Late November/Early December is the estimated Australian release of the yet-to-be-titled new album. This is NOT an official date though, things can change and the album could be put back. Once we (the Disso myspace team) know the date you'll...

Silverchair plan to record enough material to fill two CD's. The band also plan to have a DVD thrown in the mix as well. All of this can be confirmed by reading this interview with the band.
