Read my review of The Wonder Years' show in Providence, RI on Friday with The Story So Far, Modern Baseball and Elder Brother.
I've written about The Wonder Years so many times over the past 5+ years, but they never cease to amaze me. Not only are they excellent on record, but their live show takes their songs to a new level; they embody the perfect balance between high energy and strong musicianship. Vocalist Dan "Soupy" Campbell leads the group and their loyal fans on an hour-long roller coaster of a performance.

Dan Campbell just posted a photo of The Wonder Years' new practice space with the caption "Since our last practice spot was condemned by the board of health, we'll be writing our next record in this new luxurious practice space ... until it too gets condemned by the board of health." It seems as though they'll be getting to work on LP4 sooner rather than later.

5 Seconds of Summer will be playing an arena show at the Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 15th. According to the press release I just got, the band's new album "has already peaked at No. 1 globally on iTunes in 71 countries, and has secured more preorders than any other artist in the history of Universal Music Group." Oh, and Universal Music most certainly classifies them as "pop-punk" (actually, to be fair, it's "pop-punk sensations"). This sort of reminds me of when Simple Plan kind of came out of nowhere (from the ashes of Reset) and everyone did a collective, "Huh? These guys aren't pop-punk!", and now they're effectively written into the pop-punk lexicon. It seems like...

We're excited to announce that We Are The Union are reuniting to play Four Chord Music Festival at Club Zoo in Pittsburgh, PA on August 31st. Real Friends have also been added to the impressive line-up, which already includes The Wonder Years, The SpacePimps, Modern Baseball, Turnover, Rust Belt Lights and more. Tickets are on sale now.
In 2012 we decided to walk away from We Are The Union. We were frustrated. We felt like there wasn't a place in the music scene for us. This is our return, our rebellion. This is us with our middle fingers up, proud to push against the grain and be different. See you in Pittsburgh.
