The Wonder Years sold 22,987 copies of No Closer To Heaven in its first week of release, landing them at No. 9 on the Album Sales chart. With streaming factored in, the band moved over 24,000 units, placing them at No. 12 on the Billboard Top 200, No. 1 on the vinyl chart and No. 1 on the alternative chart. All of these numbers are career bests for the sextet, so congrats to the band, Hopeless Records, their management and everyone else!

Ahead of tomorrow's release date for No Closer To Heaven, The Wonder Years have released a new song titled "Thanks For The Ride," which you can stream in the replies. (via Spin). Singer Dan "Soupy" Campbell also gave an interview, which you can read here.
I was at this turning point with the [new] record where I was like, “I don’t want to write about the suburban American experience anymore, because I’ve written about it a hundred times.” I was thinking about other things in life that I wanted to touch on. It started to feel like I was in a footrace with an expanding universe, and I was never going to get to the finish line.

Unless you were living under a pop-punk rock: you've probably seen that The Wonder Years' highly anticipated new album leaked last night. The somewhat interesting part is that the source of the (really bad quality) leak was apparently from streaming service Deezer. Someone over there probably has some explaining to do this morning. However, according to multiple users the album also soon appeared on the UK Spotify as well. Over the past few years it's felt like album leaks were less prevalent (and with streaming services: less sought after) but this feels like one of the biggest in a long while. I'm genuinely curious how this will impact the band's first week sales. Now I'm going to go...
