Zao has posted a new track entitled "What Will You Find?" on their Myspace. The track is off their upcoming release Awake? set to be released May 5, 2009.
Former Zao drummer Jeff Gretz has announced that he is filling in on drums on the upcoming From Autumn To Ashes tour. The band has their new album, Holding A Wolf By The Ears, releasing on April 10th through Vagrant.
ZAO's newest album The Fear That Keeps Us Here has had the biggest two weeks of any ZAO album over their eleven year history. The album debuted on Billboard Magazine's Top New Artist Chart (Number 12) and Top Hard Music Chart (Number 42). Recorded by the legendary Steve Albini (Nirvana, High On Fire, Neurosis), the album recalls the dark experimentalism of fan favorite Liberate Te Ex Inferis fused with the rock n' roll of Self Titled and Parade Of Chaos and the heavy metal mastery of The Funeral Of God.

Zao has selected "My Love, My Love (We've Come Back From The Dead)" to be the first video single from their new album, The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here. The songs "Physician Heal Thyself," "American Sheets On The Deathbed," "It's Hard Not To Shake With A Gun In Your Mouth" and "My Love, My Love..." will be released online starting May 15th.

Demon Hunter has announced a month long US tour in support of their new album, The Triptych, with special guests Zao, August Burns Red, and Becoming the Archetype. The tour will commence on June 13th, and will include stops at Cornerstone in Illinois and Lifefest in Michigan. Dates and venues coming next week.
Zao have set The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here as the title to their new album which they recently recorded with producer Steve Albini (Chevelle, Neurosis). A tentative May 30th release date through Ferret ecords is being eyed for the effort. A limited edition deluxe version of the effort will also see a release with a bonus DVD documenting the making of the album.
Zao are asking fans to help them create a setlist for the upcoming Ferret Music Tour, which also features Madball and Remembering Never. Suggestions will be compiled and the band will formulate their set list based on the most popular requests, throwing in a couple of new tracks for good measure. What's fair game? Any song from their rich catalog dating back to Weyandt's first album with the band, Where Blood & Fire Bring Rest, all the way through their Ferret Music debut, The Funeral Of God.
