Jason,
Thanks for AP.net
I'm a 30 yr old Christian school teacher who's been checking your site literally on a daily basis since I discovered it and the internet back in 1999-2000. Just want to thank you.
After years of guesses, and now seeing your Rdio playlist, I have to ask, what's your background/introduction into Christian bands? Let's just avoid the debate and jump right to it, clearly you have some sort of connection to the whole Christian punk thing that happened in the late 90's. I was just wondering what it was. I mean, everyone name drops MxPx, and the die-hards mention Slick Shoes, but Dogwood? and Value Pac? SICK OF FREAKING CHANGE?!?!? I know you're west coast and all, but with all the punk bands out there, what in the world would attract you to bands like that? I love em, and ever since my older brother bought me On the Cover for my birthday and opened me up to a world beyond Sublime, Green Day, and Rancid, the Christian punk/emo/hardcore scene has kept me alive.
And now, in the nu-punk era, I have fallen in love with TWY and others, much to my wife's shagrin to me playing it in the house (2 yr olds can't decipher the F-bomb). The Pop Punks Not Dead Tour was the best show I've been to since MxPx played the Electric Factory with the Hippos and Ghoti Hook. I know, Christian school teacher, Soupy would probably mock me from the stage
Pretty sure if we met back in the 90's, we woulda been friends...
Done rambling, back to work. Thanks.
